I had the same problem with a HP 6812 4 in one inkjet printer. Every HP Support sight I looked at said that there was no commuter available and I could gear up it up with the Install CD. Another ten twelvemonth sometime printer worked fine with 1062. I got the HP to piece of work by doing a search for drivers from within "Backdrop" for the printer (there were 4 or 5 listed) and the 3rd one installed for me and I haven't looked back. I accept no idea why this happened for what it got fixed, just happy it works.

Unfortunately there are not guarantees that any printer, etc that nosotros have installed on a previous version of Windows will work with the current one.
It looks like HP does not desire to provide back up or drivers for it anymore. Then you either have to use another version of Windows the does accept drivers for information technology. Or go a newer printer.

I have the aforementioned issue with my Envy 5660. The drivers I currently have from HP are the most current and does work with Windows x perfectly fine but Microsoft keeps trying to update drivers.

I have had the aforementioned consequence every since I signed up to exist an insider nigh a year agone. No matter what I seem to practice I still cannot get the failed attempt to update my 5660 series driver off of my arrangement update screen. Any solution found yet?

I am having the same event:

I turned off my anti-virus, thinking perhaps it was interfering just to no avail.
Consequently, I am stumped as well.
I too await for anyone with a solution to this issue.
The OS I am using is Windows 10 Home.

Become to command panel, go to printers, remove any "unknown devices" from the printers section, that worked for me

My Windows ten is all in French just the layout is the same equally in English, likewise you lot may try correct clicking the right mouse button on the "start" buttton lower jeft, of the Desktop, find control panel, left click on organisation administrator click "printers" aggrandize the "tree" Under printers, remove any "unknown devices" Worked for me bonne chance

That didn't piece of work for me. I've even removed the printer, and allowed Windows ten to "discover" information technology and install information technology. The printer works, the update doesn't.
Zero Impress - HP ENVY 5640 series - Error 0x800f020b
I should annotation that I am working with a laptop and this printer is used in 1 location via the local wifi and selected as default. I accept another printer installed for use at another location. That one is networked via cat5 through a different router. I don't think those facts are germane, merely I put them out there anyway.
I remove the update fail notice from the notification area only to have it render every day.
